About meI am a writer and artist living in San Francisco but spend three months away each year alternating between San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and Athens, Greece.

My newest books are Paris Dreams and Athens Apartment, published 2009 by Persona Press, San Francisco.

About my libraryI am primarily focusing on books dealing with the history and culture of the Mediterranean. I will add books about Mexico later.

You might enjoy a book I just finished reading and enjoyed very much..."The Tomato Rhapsody" by Adam Schell. It is a bit of a fable but I was fascinated by it. The story line has to do with the introduction of the tomato to Italy by the Spanish (true) but in this story the Spaniard is actually a Spanish Jew. The characters are bigger than life and the use of Italian phrases are wonderful. The setting is Tuscany and there is much about the culture and society portrayed that I found authentic. If you check out the book on Librarything.com I have a review that I wrote of it. I also happened to meet the author, Adam Schell, at a book signing in Hollywood, CA.

We share a passion for Mediterranean culture and history. I am currently reading Travelling Heroes by Robin Fox. It centers on 8th century BC Greece. I think you would really enjoy it.
Hi

As a jump into the unknown, I've accepted your invitation but you don't make it easy to see what your tastes are with nothing listed in your library! Was there something particular you liked about mine?
Thank you Nick. Yes, I am in the U.S. You are not?
It does not look like you have begun to catalogue your own books.....get busy!!! :-)
