About meI have a background in Classics, i.e. Greek and Latin languages and literature. Classics, the study of religion(s), and philosophy are my primary interests. I enjoy the performing arts, especially theater and music. I enjoy listening to "classical" music from all historical periods, and have a special love of Early Music. (The term "classical," as applied to music, means a particular style period of mostly the 18th century [that of, e.g., Mozart and Haydn], not the entire tradition of Western art music.) I also enjoy some of the popular music of the early 20th century, and much of that of the 1970s and 80s.
About my libraryThe greater part comprises primary classical works (in the traditional sense, i.e. those written in either ancient Greek or Latin) or works on classical subjects (i.e. those having anything to do with the Greco-Roman world, including Greek philosophy, Greek and Roman history, Greek and Roman religion, etc.). Then there are classics in the more general sense (great books generally; i.e. the ones that now are often labeled "canonical"). There is a good showing of books on medieval through current philosophy and religion, rounded out by various reference works and a scattering of miscellanea.
