You are engaged in some interesting work, and it looks like our proverbial paths cross at some points. I taught at Lee University in Tennessee for a good while (Tennessee connection); I have taught at a "sister" (Baptist connection) school of Samford's for many years; and I am a Voegelinian of sorts (EV connection). It is comforting to see that the Committee on Social Thought will allow you to write a dissertation on Voegelin.

Most of my work has been in the area of American political thought, but I did publish an article on Voegelin and Moses a year or so ago (if interested, see http://www.drleecheek.com/Vita/Moses.pdf). And I see that you own my graduate school classmate Federici's introductory study of Voegelin, which is filled with much insight and less pretension than most Voegelin studies, and many these studies were written by friends of mine.

I pray you will continue to make progress on your project.

Cordially,

Lee Cheek
