About my libraryLimited by the confines of a city-sized apartment, but we pack as much in as we can. Our library* is full of media studies, gender studies, and cultural American history books. In my not so copious free time, I'm getting back into reading fiction (and am taking suggestions)! I just realized that I've been unconsciously been working my way through Booker Prize winners...

*This LT account is a combined library with my wife and son. Separating out whose books are whose would be more trouble than it's worth. Plus we like to share.

Some how I "fell" across the site and got my review posted.....what a mess for me!!! s
I am having a terrible time trying to find where I may post my review for a book (The Phoenix: Firestorm by Joseph Allen)--could you please help me with some directions? I did post the review on Amazon. Sorry to be such a dummy!!! s
WOW I'm so excited !
Thanks, Abby
Thanks Abby,

I thought I only had 2 but wasn't certain.
I'm still working on the Committed to the Sane Asylum, in the last chapter at the moment.
You have the cutest baby!!
Hi Abby,

How do I go about getting my new suspense novel LET THE SHADOWS FALL BEHIND YOU reviewed? Let me know.

Abby, thanx for letting me know i've snagged my first Member Giveaway book, [[Nduka Onwuegbute]]'s [Drums That Dance In The Dark]. I'm not able to be very active here on LibraryThing, but will do my best to review it.

Is there a way to look back at the original description on the Giveaway page, that made me request it (specifically to see whether the author asked for a review)? I can look at earlier Early Reviewers batches but can't see a way to view earlier Member Giveaways.

Thanx
mand
Abby, my review of "The Cellest of Sarajevo" apparently still hasn't been updated. In my "recent activity box," it doesn't show as having been reviewed; however, it is indicated in the number of reviews I have listed up in the main body of my profile page.

Would you like to fix that for me?

Thanks.
Hi, Abby~

Beautiful baby you have!

I just posted my review of "The Cellist of Sarajevo," and the date stamp was December 31, 1969. Thought you'd like to know.

Thanks.
I am having problems with changing my profile. I had a live webcam of two storks nesting in the Netherlands. This the site it was from (just so you know what I had up.. I had the webcam only, not all the writing) this is a link to the site... http://www.beleefdelente.nl/ooievaar

My husband is an engineer so he prepared the code for me and it worked. I had it up for a few weeks. But when you did changes last week, it disappeared. Now when I try to put it back, and then save it, the code dissappears.

Any ideas?
Are you not allowing those things any more??

Louise
here's where the baby pictures are accumulating: http://www.librarything.com/topic/60553
Hi Abby, I've noticed you have very cute baby pictures loaded at Flickr. The Green Dragon has just started a baby pictures thread and I am sure all would love to see your baby in with all the rest. Very cute pictures.
Does Harold Evans, one of the many LT Authors, pay LibraryThing to be a "Featured Author" about once a week?
I'm so sad! I didn't snag a book. . . maybe next month!
Abby! You made my day! I just found out that I will be receiving a copy of _Bleeding Heart Square_! Library Thing thinks that I will love it! Of all the books I've seen available as an Early Reviewer, this is the one that I was most intruiged by.

Thank you so much!

Melissa
Abby - thanks for your note. I am grateful to have the chance to read and review _The Last Days of the Romanovs_...totally cool. Thank you for all this.
Hi, In Jan. I was notified I had "won" one of the free books...Middos, Manners & Morals with a Twist of Humor by Joe Bobker.
I still haven't received my copy.
I didn't want you to think I hadn't reviewed it.

I'll post the review as soon as it comes in.

Thank you

Amelia aka Debra
You'd left me a comment in regards to me snagging a copy of The Strain - I was just curious if you needed my address, cause I don't remember putting it on the website when I signed up. Let me know, please and thanks so much!
Just keeping you updated that I still have not received this book.
I got my notice of getting an early review copy. Can't wait! Thanks.
I got three notices today and one said I did not snag a copy and two said that I did. Which one is it?
Dear Abby,

Just wanted to send a note re:Early Reviewers. So worth the wait,I was notified that I was getting one and I am so happy with it! Very pleased and can't wait. I have been reviewing books in general on here a bit more. It provides a sort of closure. And bless you for letting us contact you this way, Mary Beth
Hi Abby,

I just recieved my notice that I snagged an ER book. Yay!

I just noticed that my former address is on my ER account, therefore I added my new address. Have the publishers already been given the shipping addresses for the February ER selections? The post office has my new address but they have not been very reliable.

Thanks so much!

Holly/wanton_librarian
Thanks Abby I look forward to it. I will again want to try a few recipes before I review. I have deleted my blog so it will just be on here.
Thanks for my Feb ER book!
Wasn't it the case you used to send out one blanket email about whether or not someone had gotten an ER book? Because since February 26th I have gotten OVER A DOZEN separate emails from you saying I hadn't gotten specific ER books, and I never got ER email in this volume before. It makes me want to quit the ER program, because I know the more books I sign up for the greater my chances are of getting one, but I don't want an individual email for each book telling me I didn't get it! I would be less annoyed by an "if you didn't hear, you didn't get one" policy.
I have still not received my two "snagged" books. I do not want to not get any more early released books because I have not written a review (no book). Thanks.
Hello all "LG" members! To try to spur us all on to do a bit more on our LG site, I thought I'd write each of you a note.
I have a renewed interest in LG due to the horrid (13degrees) weather here. I was bored & perused my lost generation books where I came upon "Found Meals of the Lost Generation", by Suzanne Rodriguez-Hunter. When I purchased the book, I must admit I looked at the recipes & ignored the accompanying text. In reading it through, I am finding it a delight. Neat little thumbnail sketches of the time with recipes for foods they served/may have served in Paris. The book is dotted with post-its & my Amazon cart has some new things to read, e.g., "Nightwood" by Djuna Barnes.
Am looking forward to some news from our members as to what new relevant books you've read or really, anything to do with the time. Thanks, Judie
hi abby. just a quick question, and you always seem to have answers. where did "you and none other" go? the feature that showed what books only you and one other person have? always liked it and can't find it any more. hm.
thanks.

Hi Abby, You made my day! I am so excited to be getting "Old Wives Tale" in the Member Giveaway. That book has been on my reading list forever. Could you please tell me, is the Member Giveaway selection process done randomly, like the EarlyReviews, or does the person giving the book have an input? I tried to find the listing of the book again in the Member Giveaway and couldn't find it. I don't even know who to thank!
LadyLo
Thanks for checking on Hero of Ages. My copy still has not arrived, but I'm sure it will soon.
