Donna and Andrew!
I survived and am back home today.
Thank you so much for the flowers. Even the student doctors would comment about how nice the sunflowers are and I could brag with a nonchalant toss of my head Oh yes, from friends (big exaggeration but I think its acceptable in online land i don't know)in Australia, where it is Spring, you know. That was so kind of you and so expensive of you. The vase is quite beautiful. I am so grateful to you for sending them. Andrew's speaking from the future was quite right, as a matter of fact,on everything they've studied postop - no malignant cells in the sample lymph nodes and so far no where else! Now I've just the drains and pumps hanging out of sutured skin to attend to, the pain and usual postop stuff. I did have a view of Central Park, if you stood at a certain angle at the far right of the window and looked diagonally. I saw a morphine induced Christmas tree out the hall window one evening = well, the traffic lights and other lights were green and red and the perspective was somewhat triangular. Next morning I realized Mount Sinai would not have a Christmas Tree, being a Jewish institution, and it was just traffic but I showed my daughter the tree anyway:) Now my sister is here from Michigan to take care of me so everything is good. Thanks so much for your kindness, support and generosity.
Fondly,
Denise
Them's fighting words, Donna! Them's fighting words!

But isn't he the dreamiest??!! I am sooooo over Bill! Do you watch the show too? I'm a huge fan. You should come up with a line of vamp candles each representing all our favorite male vampires... Eric Northman, Mr. Darcy, Obama, Edward, Erick Knight, Dimitri Belikov.....SIGH!!
It's here! Thank you so much! The book is perfect, I've been planning to do some needlework pillows and I already see a couple patterns I want to try to figure out. The candles were a wonderful surprise, I've been dying to get my hands on some, you can't know how excited I am right now! You're wonderful, I'll make sure to post pictures of anything I do because of the book!
Hi! Here are the links to the two books I angeled for you!

MsDonna- I have received The Other Boleyn Girl and I Am Legend that I am angeling for you. I am turtlegirl on BM. They are in my inventory as Angel Books #3 and 4 reserved for you.

Beautiful bio page!
I love it (the questionnaire) - and you!

Thanks so much for stepping up :)

While you were sending me your questionnaire, I was sending a message to Brenda who also knows html, setting out what I thought would be required. I'll cut and paste it and send it to you as well.

Vikitty also offered to help, and knows html. You three might have to arm-wrestle for the job (tee hee).

Expect a long-ish e-mail from me in the coming few days, to all of the volunteers en masse, to try to get us moving on this project.

Thanks again,
Michelle
This seemed appropriate given your wal-mart browsing yesterday.

Thats fine, I'm sure I'll be able to cope with reading it like that! Don't want to do you out of points either :)

Thanks a lot
This is funny.

I'm thinking of writing the sequel to this novel.

Packing my tools.
I'll be right over. :o)
Hey Donna,

I feel a little conflicted. I hope you feel better soon, but I'm also happy to see you on when I'm on.

How about if I hope you feel better by Friday? :o)

Get well! (But not too quickly.)
Hi MsD!
I hope you're well. I just wanted to thank you enormously for the candles - they are beautiful, and smell GORGEOUS!! I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have friends around the world who send me lovely things!!
Lots of love to you, and if I can return the gesture, please let me know.
N
xx
Yeah, an ARC is fine, just let me know if they don't want it and I'll mooch it from you :)
hey, I'm so sorry about not doing this sooner, things have been kinda hectic.

I got a condition status on Sunday at Tiffany's: This book has
what looks like a little water damage in the back 10 pages, but not on any
pages that have words on them.

Is that alright?
"Then I was standing on the highest mountain of them all, and round
about beneath me was the whole hoop of the world. And while I stood
there I saw more than I can tell and I understood more than I saw; for
I was seeing in a sacred manner the shapes of all things in the spirit,
and the shape of all shapes as they must live together like one being.
An I saw that the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops
that made one circle, wide as daylight and as starlight, and in the
center grew one mighty flowering tree to shelter all the children of
one mother and one father. And I saw that it was holy."

- Black Elk Speaks,
The Great Vision, 1932, p. 36
Thanks for angelling for me!
pssst.....

You are missed.

Cool bananas
My new profile picture is just for you.
Oh my gosh! I forgot about that! You'd better call him and let him know!
Jealous of my hat, huh?
Hey MsD! Just dropped by to tell you how much my friend and I enjoyed your candles last night for Earth Hour. It was awesome, and the basement smelled so nice afterwards...they also lit up our board game really well. :) Ok, well thanx again!

Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked The Wasp Factory, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also about a disturbed adolescent and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Hi there. I noticed my book, Love and Other Natural Disasters, was in your library, and I wanted to let you know I'm doing an author chat for the next two weeks. It'd be great to see you there!

I love the new photo superior pants on that bear. I keep seeing fire footage here in the states and every time I do it makes me think of you and MrA. I hope you are well and that you and friends and family are far from the fires.
Thanks, Donna :) She's taking good care of me, and the injuries are mostly bumps and bruises. My left ring finger is broken and a brilliant assortment of blacks, greys, and purples, but that's definitely the worst of it.
Its fine, thanks for checking but I just want to read them :) It makes them good candidates for being read in the bath!!
I love your profile picture! :)
That comic strip was my LT profile picture for ages! I heart xkcd.
http://xkcd.com/304/
I appreciate the offer, but I'm okay for now. What really needs to arrive is the pile of Angel books I have pending for you and others. :)
Hey MsD! Sorry for reporting so late, but I just really wanted to thank you for my present!!!! I loved the scents of the candles and I really wanted that book!! It was amazing, to know that I got a package from Australia! Thanks a lot again. And I loved the card...I'm guessing it was home-made right?

Ok, well, thank you and have a Happy New Year!!!

-Alina
Just stopped by to wish you a Happy New year MrsD and may 2009 be filled with blessings and books for you and your family and friends!!
Is that bear wizzing on the tree?
I just read post 80 on the December eating thread and you really cracked me up! Then MrA's response was great, too! You both must just have fun and laugh all the time (and I don't mean at each other).
Ender in Exile - did you get it yet? Did you read it?? I just finished it last night. It was far more like Ender's Game and Speaker than the later, more scientific or political books, which made it everything I wanted in a new Ender book :)
Happy to be of service! When are you getting one? :o)
Look look! JP left you a present on my profile
Hi Donna, I'm sorry, I can't because I have a baby and it's hard for me to make it to the post office - it's all stairs so I'd have to bring him in a carrier, and he's 20+ lbs...so I only send packages through Amazon now.
Thanks! :-D
*grin* I figured as much.

I don't have an iPhone, and likely won't get one unless/until Apple unlocks it for carriers besides AT&T. I do, however, have an iPod Touch, which is nearly the same, with the major differences being (a) it's not a phone and therefore (b) I don't have a constant internet connection; I need to be near a WiFi hotspot to connect, and (c) it doesn't have a camera. I love love love it, and absolutely recommend it to anyone even remotely social-networking-savvy who's looking at MP3 players.
oh right, flu. Curse you iPod, making it impossible to go back and see what I missed while I'm typing my reply! But yay to it seeming to be gone, and we'll just shift those thoughts to ones of continued and complete recovery and good health :)
I didn't know there was one until I saw that Andrew had added it, which led me to believe you two had picked it up. Silly me ;)

What sort of plague is haunting you? It sounds terrible :( Sending hugs and thoughts for a thorough and speedy return to good...
I'm giggling over the incongruity of "Affirmative Action and Racial Preference: A Debate" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

Of course, I've read the latter, but not the former...
Hello MsDonna... I've just seen your note in the Hang Man group about me being a Sydney person "as well". As well as ? You? Can't see any indication of your whereabouts here. I am actually in Blackheath and we here are fiercely thrashing about in the vortex that seems intent on dragging our town into some kind of "greater Sydney". So, in my parochialism I must say "No, not Sydney - Blackheath". The fact that the rest of the world sees us as being "Sydney" is beside the point (if I used emoticons I'd put a grinning-winking one here). And your book title on Hang Man has me foxed!
Thanks MsD. I think bib is the only one who can make them private, so I left her a note and removed our street addresses.

Cristina
I hope your LTing today (or tomorrow ;) means you are feeling at least a little better. Hope you're well soon!
BTW... congrats on actually geting your book number into the double digits!
Donna, Thank you so much for the candles! You are going to make a fortune. I thought everyone was just being nice when they talked about how great they smelled, but I am blown away by the scents. I love them! You are so nice to send them out. It is the first thing I have ever won for being a smart ... alec! I think MrA is a bad influence! Thanks again and good luck with your venture! -Compski

PS. I just the small travel size is so cute and the scent of Iocaine Powder is brilliant!
Hi

I won't list "Brief History of the Dead" on BM yet. That will give you an opportunity to look for a 2nd book.

Beth
Hi MsD!
JP says thanks for the prize! She would have written herself, but the six-year-old kicked her off the computer. ;)
cat
hey I thought I was to only one who read cereal boxes if books weren't aviable or it was frowned at reading at the table LOL
Hooray! It arrived! Thank you so much MsD and MrA. The bookmark is great too -- you guys are wonderful! :D
Ah, well in that case...carry on. Annoy him with my blessing. (No need to genuflect).

Can I help?
ROFL...if you want I can delete you and you can start the whole process over again. But I despair of you EVER really thinking clearly when you live in such close proximity to "you know who". Who needs to stop telling people I am porous and yellow BTW... can't you like, you know, smack him or something?

So what's with the skinny library?
Thank you for those kind words about my library! I hope you find some to 'interest' you! I have added to mine because of this site - by a ridiculous amount!! Bliss!!!

I don't have very much on my Bookmooch inventory because I like to keep my books! I hoard them - such a book hoarder! I have to keep finding more space to put more book shelves for all my books on - even with Bookmooch! I mostly have put there double copies - hehe.

Anytime I can help with a book, or recommendation - just ask.

L.
Hi Ms Donna,

Thanks for adding me to your 'interesting libraries' - and welcome to LibraryThing - I hope you have enjoyed your first few months here. I've reciprocated so I can see what you get up to err.. read! :)

Lyn
Helpful hint: Put in the book AFTER you read it. ;o)

This could explain why I've only entered 19 books since January. Woefully slow reader.

Cristina
Hi MsDonna!

Have you read any of the Twilight series yet? My daughter likes them, but I'm hesitant to add them to my reading pile because I've been somewhat spoiled by Anne Rice's vampires and reviews of Twilight have been mixed. I'd love to hear what you have to say about them.

Peace and Laughter!
Cristina
Hi, Donna! I never got to welcome you to the group. I hope you're enjoying it as well as LT! I see we're both in the cat group. I need to post over there again. HE takes up so much time! I'm sorry about your kitty in the photo. *hugs*
Hi! Yeah, I love having all the animals. The downside is the amount of hair on everything. :) Oh, and we might be getting a pig!
Hi MsDonna! I just wanted to say it's lovely to see you on the Hogwarts Express! I hope we'll be seeing a lot more of you!

Bib
No worries, Donna - I know that navigating a new site, especially one with as many nooks and crannies as this one, can take time to learn :)
it's clean.
like the desert.
