About meAfter more than a decade at a large not-for-profit educational testing company, I recently completed a master's degree in library and information science. I now manage the library and records management program for an architectural and engineering firm. My partner and I have been together for eight years and we have a beloved cat named Lilibet.
About my libraryLike most people, my library reflects my life and interests. My undergraduate degree is in Political Science, so you will find a lot of books about elections and politics. I have a passion for royal families, the British peerage, European nobility, and prominent American families--all of these subjects are well represented. I also have a lifelong interest in classical and European history.
I have a weakness for maps and genealogical tables in books. A book that has one or both may be in my library even if it has no other redeeming feature. I have been known to buy a book simply for these assets.
I enjoy mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, and the novels of Anthony Trollope.
Probably the fastest growing part of my collection is gay-themed works. As an out and proud gay man, this is an essential aspect of my library and life today.
I enjoy books in series, so once I find an author that I like, I often acquire all of his or her works.
