About meI'm a lover of books (obviously). I also work as a legal assistant, am a mother of two sons and wife to a NASCAR obsessee.
Over the last couple years I've become a rather moderate fan of manga/anime and have been spending an exorbitant amount of time reading/watching it. My more traditional literature loves are romances and fantasies, although I do try to fit in a non-fiction or classic here and there.
Although I'm not writing presently, in 2006 and 2007 I self-published two teen, urban fantasies which I would love to share with people should they be so inclined. If you're curious please feel free to check out the link to my website or you can find them over on Amazon.
Like so many other LTers I'm participating in a few challenges. You can check out my challenges here:
TBR Challenge
999 Challenge
Paranormal 999 Challenge
Comments on any of my challenges are most welcome!
About my libraryThese are either books I own or books I have taken out from my local public library. I love my library system! I have more books than I have room for them, but wouldn't have it any other way! Without my public library I would probably be broke from buying all the books that I want to read and would have to move into a bigger house to accomodate them. If you're looking at my catalog the books I've taken out from the library are tagged "library" and the ones I own are tagged "owned".
Just wanted to make a note about the manga in my catalog. I've started keeping track of plot points and characters in the "comments" section so I'm not putting spoilers in the reviews section. This is for my own benefit as I have a hard time keeping track of what is going on now that I'm actively reading so many different series. However, I did want to give a heads up to people so they know that my comments will and do contain spoilers.
About my wishlist... I am determined that my LT wishlist will NOT exceed 50 books at a time as it would be unwieldy. At the same time, this only represents a very small portion of the books I want. I do intend to try and get the books on my LT wishlist before any others so I guess you could say they are my most wished for list, in low, medium and high order.

No problem-- I enjoy answering book related questions! :D
Hmm.. Well, I have to say, I may have felt like throwing the book against the wall after I came to the end of the book, but it wasn't quiet a "end in the middle of a scene" kind of cliff hanger. More of just she gave us a hint of information, and then a few pages later it was the end of the book...
Still, I really enjoyed the book, though I can't believe we have to wait until May for Spirit Bound! ARGH. Lol. I know what you mean-- more and more lately, cliff hangers have been showing up in the good books. But then again, a sure sign of a good book is when said cliff hangers really annoy you, correct?
I hope you love Blood Promise-- can't wait to hear you thoughts on it!
Enjoy!

I see you are reading a Piers Anthony, I was just talking about those books recently. How funny - like you have said before, we seem to have very similar tastes in books.

I know, it's pretty rare for me to rate a book that low! And it's definitely the first one in a looong time.
I'm not sure if I'll be writing a review or not... I'm not sure if I could properly explain what it was about the book that made me give it such a low rating. But if I do, feel free to read it.
I've had the book in my pile for at least a year or so, and I've tried picking it up to read before, but after about 60 pages, I lost interest in it. So back into the pile it went, until it resurfaced the other day. I decided to give it one more chance, like I do with all books. And though I managed to finish it this time, it wasn't a great book. I don't know if it was really the story line itself (it was definitely...unique, set in a futuristic time, from what I could figure out, though when the Pig, which was a hybrid of pig and human, ate the main character's two brothers, well, I was a bit grossed out. It went into a bit too much detail for me, and kept going back to this, which may be one of the reason why I didn't enjoy the book), I think it may have been some of the writing... Something just didn't pull me in and make me care about the characters, it's like I just kept reading to say that I had finished it.
I hope this helps you. I don't want to say "Don't read this book", because we all have our own preferences, and maybe you'll pick this one up and find that you really enjoyed it-- you just never know. But for me, it was almost a waste of time, and I definitely won't be reading it again. Whether or not I may, some day, check the sequel out from the Library is another story-- as long as I don't buy it, maybe, but even then, I'm not sure. Who knows though-- maybe the second one will be more of my kind of book.
Hope you're having a good week, and reading some good book! ;)
Enjoy,
TBQ

Thanks for the suggestion, I may give it another try since you say that they have different styles. I was never one for comic strips though either, that may have something to do with it.

That's what I like about LT so much-- it allows you to meet new people and to keep track of what books you have in common with them. *sigh* I can't help it though-- I just keep adding more books to my library, even though my 'want to read list' is over 2,000 by now...and still growing every day! Good thing I bought the membership so I could post unlimited amounts on here. If I had just stayed with the free 200 book library account, I would have went crazy!
Are you ready for a new book to check out? I'm sure your list is as big as mine, but I can't help but suggest this book for you-- it was amazing, and I think you'd really enjoy it. It's by a local author (well, local to me here in Utah), and it's meant as a teen fiction/romance novel, but I know you'd love it. I would compare it to Twilight a bit, but not in a cheap knock off kind of way. In fact... (looks around nervously) I may even like it a tiny bit more than Twilight...and if you know how much I love Twilight, that's saying a lot! The title is "The Houglass Door" by Lisa Mangum. I just finished it this morning, and I haven't had time to sit down and write a review yet *though I am going to, believe me!*, but the only thing I can say is 'WOW!'. I'm just disappointed that I'll have to wait until 2010 for the sequel! She left us on a cliff hanger (what author doesn't, right?), but the rest of the story was great.
So, if you see it on your trip to the bookstore or even the library near you, please pick it up. I promise you, you won't regret it!
Enjoy!

Also, I would really be okay with it if you were the one to pick all my GRTBs. You've never picked a dud as far as I can tell! (I've got 6 of the remaining 7 immortals books on the way to me via PBS!!!)

lol. I do love the S series for what it is - pretty, harmless entertainment, though with a darker edge than most yaoi. What sucks though is that amazon have delayed sending my copy of S Volume 4 :( I haven't tried to read 3 yet because I just know there'll be a damn cliffhanger and I can't deal with those without having the next book handy :) Hope you enjot TC, I have yet to get volume 6 :( lol it will be an after-exam reward! To go with all my during-exam rewards! :D :D
I haven't read any of the Mortal Instruments books though I've always meant to check them out, they sounded cool. I have read Grave Sight and have Grave Surprise on order so should get it in a coupla days ... I just love Charlaine Harris' writing. Have you read any of hers?
See you round :)

TC is great, right? I'm glad you like it. It's so fluffy and yet later it gets pretty dark in terms of relationship issues (not that that was obvious or anything). I think it's fitting that it was only 6 volumes long, tho - not too straining, budget-wise :)
I've read volumes 1 and 2 of S :S soooooo much studying going on this weekend lol. Well, they are pretty quick and easy to read, which is how I got through the first half during bedtime reading. I mean, the police stuff can actually be pretty heavy-going - there's more plot than I've ever seen before in a yaoi novel, lol - but I actually really liked that aspect. Munechika and Shiiba felt so much more real to me as a couple than yaoi couples normally do and I pretty much love them (except for I really hated that violent scene with them in the 2nd novel). So I'm pretty happy with it.
Ditto on that retirement plan lol, only mine is more 'I'm going to read as many books as physically possible after the exams when the summer arrives' lol :)

My mission in life is to get more people to admit that they like Love Story :D I just love it, literally. I’m not too fussed about Taylor Swift’s other stuff, but I adore that song. It’s one of those that makes me smile every time I hear it; they play it a lot over here too.
Might go check out Vassalord, it sounds like my kinda thing. Although I tend to avoid most vampire manga, because they sure can be bad *cough*Vampire Knight*cough* lol. I still need to catch up on TRC and Saiyuki Gaiden, I haven’t finished that yet … eep, so much tbr manga! I think I’m nearly as bad as you with the book-buying when you already know you’ve got about a million to read at home *sigh* I can’t control myself either. I just have these piles of books lying around my room, waiting to be read, and I keep buying more, and more, and more … lol. Sometimes I borrow and don’t return for like months too, which my friends get a little annoyed with. Whoops :O
Lol, see ya around :)
posted by narcissus_in_theory at 4:36 pm (EST) on May 1, 2009
Anyway, sorry - I’m not actually following xxxHolic. The premise didn’t interest me as much as TRC, so I chose to follow the later instead. Besides, like you say, TRC has pretty Fai :D Watanuki is ok, but he’s no Fai :) I’ve never read Vassalord, I’ll go look it up. Any good?
Lol about the Yellow thing! I just read it because it seemed like everywhere I went with yaoi fans people were talking about it - same with Fake, and I was so glad I did read it. It didn't really get me the way Fake did, you're right about that, but it's still better than most of the yaoi stuff out there. It's pretty difficult to get ahold of it under £10 and I wasn't willing to buy 4 volumes all at that price, and then I found it online, so I was pretty happy :)
My exams haven't actually started yet. My first is the 11th May, which is damn near, hence my constantly panic-stricken facebook status lol ... I just need to get my head down and work now. Tell your son good luck from me lol :)
posted by narcissus_in_theory at 1:56 pm (EST) on Apr 30, 2009
You’re getting TC anyway though - that’s cool. I haven’t actually got S 1-4 yet, I added them pre-emptively as I couldn’t restrain myself from ordering them the other day when I read a really good review on sleepisfortheweak.org! I was feeling like I needed some kind of reward with exams and stuff … they sound like my kinda thing, in a way lol but not the sort of thing to read on public transport I’m guessing …lol. The trials of being a socially unacceptable yaoi fan *sigh*
All I said about Yellow was how much of a shame it is that it’s such a rare find! It’s impossible to get a fair price for them over here, so I just read it online, and loved it. it felt like such a deviation from the norm - the seme, while aggressive, wasn’t totally overpowering, and actually it was the uke who said when/where etc. mostly anyway, as far as I can remember (and actually I can’t remember their names right now oh dear lol).
What I said about TRC … I can remember rambling on about how glad I was that Fai and Kurogane were back on proper speaking terms again, nicknames and inappropriate honorifics and all lol, but that I definitely had to read the latest few chapters again because I really am very confused … tbh I think most of the Clamp fandom went ‘huh?’ when the whole mother/father girlfriend/boyfriend son/daughter thing, as you so succinctly called it ;) is it just a little bit creepy that Syaoran knew all the time that he was romancing an AU clone of his mother, or is it just me …?
Lol. I have no idea how the manga will end … I’ve given up trying to predict Tsubasa since Fai went emo vampire on us. I think it kinda gained a lot in character depth and stuff when it got darker, though. I found the first half of the series a little sugar sweet, but that’s just me. The girl who reads about violence and vampires for fun … :D
See you later :)

All this talk about the DH series is really making me want to read them again ... I'll have to get down to my library to find some. I got The Stupidest Angel and Not Before Sundown from there yesterday, so I'm pretty happy :) just have to be doing revision instead of reading now lol *rolls eyes*
Yeah, I wish I could have like a daughter's day to get free books for, that'd be awesome ;) TC is a great read. I'm trying to catch up on Tsubasa at the mo (in between all my other reading >..< lol).
With bookmooch I always have the 'ask first' thingy too, but then I feel bad if I don't send them so I nearly always say yes. I do have a few on delay at the moment tho so I can even out my postage spending ... on the other hand, I've mooched like 5 books that would really have cost me otherwise, I think. :D the joys of the internet.
See you around :) good luck with those dishes ... ;)

I can't get hold of it either, I wouldn't worry ... nobody I've talked to about it can find it! Here's the link to read it online if you want: http://manga.animea.net/the-tyrant-who-f...
That goes up to quite a cliffhanger but it's still good to read :)
posted by narcissus_in_theory at 1:00 pm (EST) on Apr 23, 2009
I hope you like TC, when you get it - it's good that you'll get the first 2 volumes in one go, I think I went months between hard copies of volumes 1-5, which is a bummer. What's S? I totally relate to the whole counting out quarters thing. I refuse to do anything with my loose change but spend it, which usually ends with me trying to pay a bus driver with 1p and 2p pieces, lol. Makes me ever so popular :P
We do have Borders over here, just not so popular as it is in the US; we have our other bookshops. I think I'd end up spending near all my time there if we did have loadsa them (like you, lol).
Yeah, my bookmooch is the same as LT, though I'm trying to cut back on my giving at the moment cause it's really costing me in terms of p&p - loads of my wishlist books are unavailable, and I'm having the same problem as you in that when there are copies people seem unwilling to send outside their own country :( if I can, why can't everyone else ... *grump grump*
lol, sorry. It's been a looooooooong day ... talk soon :)

How are you getting on with Acheron? I think I'll check out Satisfaction Guaranteed, sounds like my kinda thing (losta UST but not that much overt slash). Actually the only real yaoi I follow is Totally Captivated, which is complete at 6 volumes - quite short really but sometimes that's better than dragging it out and having it turn to crap, I reckon.
I hate the whole release-limbo thing! Tyrant Who Fell In Love has been there for ages too :( I guess that's another yaoi I follow lol but it barely counts anymore, the last chapter came out like a year ago :(
I adore Borders. They have hardly any over here (UK) and I guess Waterstones kinda acts as our Borders but it always seems like it's nowhere near as massive. Hence part of the reason I want to move to the US when I'm older, lol, for the bookshops!
posted by narcissus_in_theory at 1:12 pm (EST) on Apr 22, 2009
lol :D
I think it's the English voice actor for Fai who was all 'Fai only likes girls' and stuff and I just thought that was a little unnecessary. And basically untrue of most Clamp characters, who don't seem to bother much about gender either way.
About Amazon - I am so bad when I go surfing there too! It just doesn't seem like real money, cause it's all virtual, so I just buy more manga and more and more ... lol. You should give Totally Captivated a try; when I first read it it seemed the typical aggressive seme/wimpy uke, but it's not like that at all. It's quite complex, really, and it's made me cry, which is quite a recommendation lol ;)
What's Satisfaction Guaranteed? Sounds vaguely dirty :O lol
I'm trying to get through Equal Rites (Pratchett) but to be honest all I really want to do is read more DH. That's the problem with DH novels, though, they're like Pringles or Pocky - once you've had one you've just got to keep going, lol :D
What're you reading right now?
posted by narcissus_in_theory at 12:45 pm (EST) on Apr 20, 2009
I get what your son's friend's girlfriend (whoo lol) is saying about Light and L ... I was a pretty serious shipper of them together for a long time, because I kinda thought they were made for each other, in a weird way - in some ways they're complete opposites, and in others they're exactly the same. It's a weird, angsty pairing to support anyway, as of course L dies halfway through the series and they're forever trying to kill each other before that anyway lol, but for some reason it's a pairing I've really stuck with, even now the series is over.
You're lucky you had a real person to talk manga with lol, at least once, I only ever have my best friend to talk to about Fake, and that's the only manga she's ever read, and everyone else I talk to online. And there are some craaaaaaazy people online (you not included lol).
I haven't seen the Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations thingy .. I heard some bad things about the voice actors (like Fai's being totally homophobic and stuff) so I kinda stayed away, but I might give it a go.
Yes! I've finally convinced someone that Saiyuki is awesome and worth a try! lol XD
Thanks about the profile pic, I know pretty when I see it (btw that's not actually me :D)

Yeah, I know how you feel about intimidating tbr piles … I just let it mount up because I’m lazy and I watch too much tv (Supernatural :D) lol. Maybe you should read Acheron when you’re back at work or whatever, cause it does kinda suck you in; it’s always hard to let go of Kenyon’s characters, right? XD lol
Ha ha, you’re forgiven about the Death Note thing, I think it’s another love/hate thing. I personally wanted Light to win basically because I thought he was hot. Yes, fully aware of the shallowness of that lol, but tbh I really liked both Light and L as characters; I think Light had morals way back at the beginning, they just got lost. Absolute powers corrupts absolutely, and all that. It was a fun ride, though :D not to mention all the sexual tension that I can’t have been the only one to see … lol.
I’m pretty sure there’ll be more WA in the future, she can’t just cut it off like that right? It’s way too awesome!! You really should try Saiyuki (btw I pretty much petition everyone I know online to read it sooner or later, lol) it’s a little deeper, more philosophical than most shounen series. Hell, it’s not really shounen at all, I guess; shounen for girls who like bishounen, more like :D I really need to properly keep up with Tsubasa, but I keep up with so many series online rather than in print it’s like I never get off the computer! I’m glad it’s ending too, and at least Clamp will finish it properly - I hate it when they leave off like that, too :( I think LD should be brought back. Maybe they will?
Acheron just really tugs on my heartstrings. Reading the book now, he’s been through so much …! Don’t want to give it away so I won’t say anymore, but seriously *weeps*. Lol. I love Nick’s sarcasm so much! He’s such a cool guy … mind you I love most of the guys in the DH series, especially Kyrian. The fact that Kyrian and Amanda woke up handcuffed to each other and ended up married just kills me with the sweetness :D I’m such a romantic at heart.
I’m hoping to try out most of Christopher Moore through my library - he does tend to put in lots of actual LOL moments, as opposed to just being mildly funny. There’s a bit in Lamb - okay, there are lots of bits in Lamb - in which Biff decides he’ll teach Josh (i.e. Jesus) about sex by actually having the sex himself, then telling him about it. I’m not doing it justice here, but believe me it’s funny enough that it should not be read on a public bus :D
I’ll go check out the Luthe - Fai thing, talk to you later :)

Yeah, Kuro/Fai I think are so sweet together … I don’t actually have all the volumes, I just read them online for the sake of expense (the volume count is in the 20s now, right?), and I go on onemanga too - do you read Saiyuki at all, because I found a really handy scan of Gaiden the other day and I am just loving reading it.
But yeah, I love K/F to pieces. I’m not too fussed about Sakura/Syaoran tbh but K/F are just angsty and sweet enough to interest me, lol. Touya/Yukito were awesome too!! Mind you it seemed like everyone was after Yukito for a while, and that was pretty funny too; sometimes Clamp really love to mess around with pairings, huh? I’ve only read Legal Drug 1, and I did like it but they cut it off ages ago :(
Kazuya Minekura (WA’s manga-ka) has been ill for a while, yeah, so her manga’s been released really slowly both in Japan and the West, which you’re right is so annoying … I follow basically all her series so I’m like :( I think I’ve been totally desensitized to violent manga after reading all her stuff, lol, WA and Saiyuki both.
I’ve only read like the first 1/5 of Acheron so far, and I was really going for it yesterday. It’s massive, you’re right, but it’s really a good story. She doesn’t get stuck into the romance right away, obviously, there’s a lot of ancient world-building going on for at least the first half, but the attention is on Acheron all the way. He’s my favourite character in the DH series so obviously I’m biased about this but I think his story is fascinating so far. It’s really sad, though, I’ve already had the tissues out once :( You should give it a go, though. I keep meaning to get ahold of the Host, but I know I get way too into Stephenie Meyer (Twilight fan lol) and I won’t be able to unglue myself once I start, so I think I’ll wait till summer :)
:O This is me open-mouthed with jealousy over the fact that you live near Holly Black. I adore the Tithe books! Actually, Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale so I’m more inclined to re-read Valiant than the Kaye books, but I love the world she built. I tried to read Spiderwick a while ago but I never really got into it … it’s quite different, I think, from Tithe.
I’m really enjoying Fake 2, btw, thanks for the link :)
*stares at the size of this reply* Sorry lol, see you around :)

Also, I can't believe you found Fake 2, that's so awesome! *goes off to check it out* I can get on it, yay, and it looks pretty!! *happy dance* Excuse me. *cough*
lol. I do adore Fai, I really do - do you ship him with Kurogane, at all? I have to say I think they're gorgeous together though I'm not really into the shipping lark that much ... however it IS Clamp we're talking about here, it can't just be in my head ... Clamp has to be the most open-minded manga organisation ever about gay/straight pairings, lol.
See you around :)

I don't know if you've ever heard of Paperbackswap.com. You can also post your books there, and when someone requests one you get a credit to get a new book. I like the LibraryThing giveaways, but I tend to use it only if I've had a book on paperbackswap for a while that isn't getting picked. If you decide to sign up please add me Jennmarie68 as the person that refereed you.
Thank you again for the message. I look forward to getting the book :-)

Initial thoughts: the beginning was a little slow but it kept my interest and once Jessie learned Wesley's secret...well the world retreated from me at that point and I spent the rest of the morning engrossing in the book. =) I also love the cover art!

On Pg. 12 you have a double superlative "most best"
On Pg. 117 you had a sentence with a missing word. In the book it is written: "I'm not going to bullied by anyone..."
On Pg. 188 another sentence missing a word. It reads: "Looking through the open doors she could Wesley on a stretcher..."
Hope that helps. I have this habit finding things even when I am not meaning too. I hope you find that they were fixed. Again thanks for the good book!

If you wish to know more, feel free to ask! :D If I get a spare minute this month *doubtful, but still..* I may write a short review on the book. If not, maybe I'll come back to write the review later on this year.

Emily hints several times that Heathcliff came from the devil. I think someone says the devil is his father, or something like that? More mystery = more fascination.
In some ways Heathcliff is like Rochester gone irretrievably wrong...

Oddly enough, I never had a problem with the cousins marrying in this book. I think I saw the movie a long time ago and thought, "hmm" for like two seconds. It was pretty conventional back then (in Austen's Mansfield Park, Fanny marries her cousin and everyone is very happy about it, with never a whisper of it being too close a relationship for marriage). It really doesn't bother me. I don't think the family's dysfunctionality can be traced to that, either. Heathcliff wasn't inbred, and he was the craziest of the lot!

Don't you love discovering a classic book for yourself? It's like, "yeah! I actually get this!" Yes, Lockwood is definitely humorous! He lets us right into his thoughts and they're so honest. I thought his reason for withdrawing from the world was funny; he liked a girl, she liked him back, and it totally paralyzed him! So he runs away to the moor.
I actually finished the book last night and I'm going to write my review after this. I had read it before, but I really got a lot more out of this read, maybe because I was going in ready to defend it from charges of terrible gloominess. The story is somewhat gloomy, to be sure, but I like how she ended it. I'm trying not to spoiler you, so do please ignore my review if you see it, until you're done with the book!
I recommend the Binoche/Fiennes film adaptation. It cut out a lot of stuff, but Binoche and Fiennes are exactly how I pictured Cathy and Heathcliff, Fiennes in particular. I didn't see all of it, but I enjoyed what I did see of the new Masterpiece Theatre production. I'll definitely be looking for it at my library when it comes out on DVD!
Actually I haven't read Peter and the Starcatchers yet. I want to read Barrie's original first. The Starcatchers book has received such mixed reviews, I'm very curious to read it for myself and see if it's 1.) a terrible departure from the original, or 2.) a charming addition to the Peter Pan mythos. We'll have to see. I'll try to remember to mention it to you when I do read it, and if you could do the same, that would be lovely :)
Take care!

I am really enjoying it (this is a reread for me). Some readers complain that there are no likeable characters in the book, but I think our narrator Nelly Dean is very likeable and decent. Mr Lockwood is, of course, us â our familiar guide, the one we can identify with, among the wild passions and stark emotional background of the Heights. I love the dark Gothic-ness!
I hope you're enjoying it too! :)

To be honest the 1st volume cover is what interested me to start with ^_^, and though I'm enjoying it more since the back story picked up, i'm mainly continuing to buy the series in hopes that Naked Ape's other series 'DOLLS' is licensed which i much prefer.(though i've read that tokyopop may have it, god help it ^_^).
It's above average, though not stellar. may have slight shounen-ai leanings depending how you look at it.
I always say if a summary slightly interests you, you should always try the first volume at least.
Hope this helps.

As far as the ER thread goes, no, probably no opinions will be changed, but points to you for standing up and saying self-publishers exist, and are not all Neanderthals ;-) Myself I think Sturgeon's Law applies equally to all types of publishing - lots of stuff on the ER list I would have to be paid to read!

As far as I can remember, there were no werecats or psychics in it *Unless they were just characters mentioned in passing and I hate to say it but I can't always remember specifics on the 'background' characters like that, unless there is something unique or interesting about them*, but you might be able to put it under the 'guardian' one-- the Shadowhunters, as they are called, job are to protect the humans, and other races sometimes, from evil demons, etc.

If I think of more, I will of course let you know. I'm sure that after I finish this post, I'll probably think of a dozen and have to hurry and write them down so I don't forget! LOL.
I was intrigued by the challenges you were talking about and I went to look at the groups. I think I may also join in on both of the 999 challenges-- it sounds like fun, and hopefully it can help me to spread out my reading to different categories. If I do join, who knows, maybe I may be the one sending you a question about books for a certain category!
I know what you mean-- every time I think I'm working on getting my tbr pile lower, something happens or I look up new books online for too long and BAM!, suddenly I find my pile twice as big without even realizing it! I think they secretly multiply during the night....Not that I'm complaining-- the more the merrier!
Well, I hope you find more to fill your categories, and have fun along the way. Enjoy!

The Darkest Night, and all of the books in Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld Series do in fact deal with Demons-- that is what each of the men have locked away inside of them *They were cursed by the Gods thousands of years ago for something that one of them did...*. I'm sure this could easily fit into either category, at least the demon one. It might be able to fit into the guardian/enforcement one, but depending on how they 'grade' it, it could be a stretch.
Werecats, werecats... Hmm... Well, though I haven't read them yet, I've heard some good things about the Werecats series by Rachel Vincent. The first one is called Stray. My mind is drawing a blank right now on more werecat ones, but I'll get back to you if I think of more.
Psychic... There are very few that I've read, but the ones I have were great, in my opinion. Nalini Singh writes these amazing paranormal psychic books, called the Psy-Changelings series. I've read almost all of them, and they were both interesting and very spicy! :) I think you might enjoy them.
If you need any more suggestions, feel free to ask- I'd love to help. Besides, you do have a point-- we seem to have a lot of books in common. Great minds think alike, I guess. ;-)

I was in the 999 paranormal challenge group and I saw that you were in a monthly book read for a romance group. Can I ask what group that is? I enjoy a good romance as much as a good ghost story.
Thanks,

Oooh, I forgot to mention Ouran--it's just so cute and funny. Such a zany parody of all the shoujo tropes. And I love Tsubasa too. I used to keep up with the spoilers from the latest translated Japanese chapters, but not in a while. I'm desperately waiting for the next volume. Such good stuff! I'm such a CLAMP slave. Curse them and their pretty, pretty pictures. I have all of FAKE as well. I see you have Here Is Greenwood--that's another of my favorites. Basara is also good for action-packed shoujo stuff.

I am glad you find my reviews interesting. They are a lot more in the line of brain-spills and I always worry about sharing them directly here... linking to them seem to be a bit safer, especially when considering the nature of my choice reading ^^;;.
Yaoi and gay fiction are my main focus in book collecting at the moment but, yes, it is a messy library, straining to cover everything I find even remotely interesting... book collecting is more or a compulsion or an incurable illness than a hobby but nothing say home to me more than a wall covered with book-shelves... I just wish they WERE on the shelves and not piling under tables... by sofas... on top of the TV...
